Media as a form of connectivity

This week, Youth4Youth taught the students at ESF South Island School about media and filming. Students were paired up and given a camera with the task to create a short comedic film. We taught the students about lighting, transitions, camera angles, camera movement, camera techniques, cinematography techniques and sound design, as well as how these techniques could be applied in their own short films.

After successfully filming the scenes of heir short films, we taught the students how to use DaVinci Resolve, a professional colour grading, colour correction, visual effects and audio post-production video editing application, to aid them in the editing process. Students learnt many important skills which will definitely help them if they choose to take the school's AFP Media course or IB Film and Media in the future!
